I'll ask again. My "check engine" light came on, and I had it tested.?

ok here it is in a nut shell the output speed sensor is on the side of your transmission there is a wiring harness attached to it remove the sensor it will take a 1" socket to remove it and replace with a new sensor. problem is that sensor is a dealer item only so you will have to go to dealership to order part but you can change it yourself.only a little fluid will come out not much so dont freak out...the problem you are having is the tailshaft speed of the transmission is not being recognized properly by the ecm(electronic control module) so it is out of sync. you may even have a loose connection on the sensor so try that first. then if you have to replace it or find a loose connection to reset ecm simply remove battery terminals for atleast 5 minitsto make sure all power has drained from ecm then rehook them up. there is also a low speed sensor on rear axle check it as well... they are known problems on dodge trucks.
