Can you have a lawsuit for this?

Hello, my neighbor had thing huge halloween party and it lasted to 1 am and somewhere between Halloween night and 9 am the next day, someone had hit our new mail box. We went over and confronted the girls who had the party. I know both of them and I'm friends with them, and I found out wo hit our mail box. She's a junior and she thinks she's all that and a bag of chips. But it's been 2 months and they still haven't paid us. Shes in my chemistry class and she knows I know it's her. She has a nice car so she would have money to pay for the mail box. Can I sue her? What can I do to get our money? Can I open a lawsuit? Thanks for the help
