He cut out front trusses in garage to make entrance taller, is that ok?

So my man is a heavy equipment mechanic, he got to drinkin' and thinkin' last night and decided to cut the first A truss out in the inside front of his garage so he would have more room to work on machinery in there. Didn't cut the exterior one, but the first inside one, said he was going to use some other kind of support for the roof there. He is really good at a lot of things, so I don't want to doubt him and didn't question him personally. I'm no carpenter, but it just doesn't seem like a good idea. On top of that, it snowed last night. Just wondering. Thanks!
