Do you think nationalism is simply a replacement for religious control?

What about Chechnya? What about Cuba? These are just two countries where nationalism has been a struggle for an identity separate and rightly deserved from modern Imperialism. Nationalism is not always about BNP values. Sometimes its about cultural identity against a whitewash of ignorance...indeed they do. Are they really nationalists? Or are they just Racists hiding behind politics?
