What are the differences between Pro Tools and Cubase?

I've used Cubase SX for a good few years now and i've built my setup around it. I'm using A PC as for My DAW platform and a presonus Firepod as my Interface. I have to say that I really love Cubase and can get really great(to my ears) stuff out of it. However I'm constantly hearing about how great Pro Tools is and how its industry standard. I can't really demo the software as you need hardware to run it so I was wondering if anybody out there was in my situation and took the plunge and went for a pro tools rig? Or if anyone has any opinions that would be appreciated.
